In this unique and rewarding position, you’ll care for Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients—individuals who are often elderly or living with complex conditions, awaiting rehabilitation, long‑term care, or a return home. Whether on a medical, convalescent, or short‑stay unit, you’ll provide comprehensive support, guide complex discharge planning, and ensure each patient receives the care they need to thrive.

Salary Range: $76.61/hour - $84.27/hour. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications and experience of the applicant.

On‑call may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnosis and Treatment:
    Assess, diagnose undifferentiated diseases and conditions, provide treatment, and prescribe medications within the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice and regulatory standards.
  • Care Management:
    Monitor ongoing care, order diagnostic investigations, interpret results, and develop tailored treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Patient Communication:
    Establish care priorities, provide follow‑up treatment, and communicate effectively with patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and prognoses.
  • Collaboration and Consultation:
    Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create individualized treatment plans; may also admit and discharge patients per organizational policies.
  • Prescribing Medication:
    Prescribe medications within legal and regulatory guidelines, ensuring safe and effective use.
  • Leadership and Supervision:
    Lead and guide other nursing and healthcare personnel; provide education, supervision, and performance evaluations.
