Summary

Axis Family Resources Ltd. is hiring a full-time Caregiver Support Worker to provide short‑term, targeted intervention for families experiencing crisis or hardship. This program provides goal‑based support to parents/caregivers and their children and can also include one‑to‑one support for youth living independently. The caregiver support worker generally meets with persons served in their homes, the community, or in office, one to two times per week (depending on the needs of the family).

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Child and Youth Care or related field, or training and experience.
  • Experience providing support and education around healthy parenting skills/strategies is required.
  • Knowledge of BC's child protection legislation and Ministry of Children and Families services is an asset.
  • Must have knowledge of community resources.
  • Current Level 1 First Aid (including CPR) Certification is required.
  • CPI (Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention) Training will be provided during first year of employment, and thereafter as required by certification.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
