Vacatia is looking for a Chief Engineer to lead our maintenance and engineering team at Vacation Village Resort in Williamsburg, VA.

As our Chief Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring every system, space, and piece of equipment at the resort is operating smoothly. From overseeing HVAC and electrical systems to keeping the grounds in top shape, your leadership will set the tone for excellence. You’ll manage a skilled team, coordinate preventive maintenance, and partner with other resort leaders to deliver an outstanding guest experience.

• Lead and mentor the engineering & maintenance team.
• Oversee daily operations of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Vacatia standards.
• Plan and manage capital improvement projects.
• Partner with vendors and contractors to complete repairs and upgrades on time and on budget.

• 5+ years of engineering or maintenance experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role (hospitality experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and a high-performing team.
• Hands‑on skills and willingness to jump in when needed.
• Flexible availability, including on‑call coverage.
