Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Williamsburg, Virginia. In this contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing for a diverse group of employees. This position requires a strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of payroll systems, compliance regulations, and multi-state payroll practices.

Responsibilities:

- Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Manage 401(k) contributions, deductions, garnishments, and related payroll adjustments.

- Handle expense reimbursements, bonuses, and other compensation-related items.

- Maintain compliance with payroll regulations across multiple states.

- Utilize Paylocity software to execute full-cycle payroll tasks.

- Oversee tracking and reporting of payroll-related data for organizational records.

- Ensure proper handling of employee benefits and deductions.

- Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries effectively.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.

- Monitor and implement updates to payroll policies as needed. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.

- Proficiency in managing payroll for multi-state operations.

- Strong knowledge of Paylocity software or similar payroll systems.

- Experience handling payroll for over 500 employees.

- Familiarity with payroll compliance regulations and practices.

- Ability to manage deductions, garnishments, and 401(k) contributions.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills for resolving payroll-related issues.
