Christ Fellowship Church of Williamsburg, Williamsburg, VA

Christ Fellowship Church in Williamsburg, VA is seeking an Associate Pastor with the intention of being sent out from CFC to plant a new church within two years. They will serve as an elder at CFC assisting the Lead Pastor and elders with shepherding God’s flock while overseeing CFC’s church planting efforts. A large focus will be placed on developing relationships and necessary groundwork that needs to be done to plant a new church in the greater Williamsburg, Virginia area.

Meets the biblical qualifications

Seminary training and 3+ years of ministry experience preferred

Adheres to Calvinism, Complementarianism, and “9

Marks ecclesiology”

Ability to work on a team towards specific goals in a mutually edifying and supportive manner

Ability to work on multiple tasks, be flexible, and work with little supervision

Commitment to and agreement with CFC Statement of Faith

Maintain regular office hours and be on-the-job 40 plus hours per week

Committed to life-long learning

Willingness to humbly serve wherever the church needs him

Willingness to be evaluated by the elder body regarding suitability for the planting task

Assist Lead Pastor in all facets of shepherding God’s flock and leading CFC members to fulfill the commission in Matt 28:19-20

Serve as an elder, overseeing matters of membership and ensuring sound New Testament church doctrine is taught

Oversee Christ Fellowship’s church planting efforts by:

developing relationships within the congregation with individuals/families who may want to go out as part of the new church plant’s core membership

developing relationships with Hampton Roads Pillar churches and other like-minded local churches who may want to partner in the venture of planting a new church in the greater Williamsburg, Virginia area

Research strategic areas to plant a church in the community and avenues of financial support

Prepare draft Constitutions, Covenant, and Confession for the new church plant

Identify potential elders and ministry leaders for the new plant

Preaching approximately eight times annually and teaching in other venues

Assist in other key ministry areas

The target timeframe for the new church plant is within two years of start date.
