Nurse Practitioner

Urology of Virginia (UVA) has a long history of providing comprehensive and quality care to the entire Hampton Roads region, including northeastern North Carolina. Our clinical care team consists of board certified urologists most of whom are fellowship trained, nationally recognized, awarded and published. Working in a team based environment, our mission is to help patients optimize their urological health.

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical support at our Hampton and Williamsburg offices. The NP will contribute information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives. • Demonstrate a high degree of general medical and urological knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriate
• Assess the patient’s medical condition by completion of a urological examination
• Document appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to: evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes, and other reports as requested
• Order and evaluate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications and devices based on the patient’s medical condition
• Develop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocols
• Order physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or home health care as appropriate
• Fulfill hospital rounding duties as assigned

• Minimum 5 years working in Nurse Practitioner role
• Urology of Surgical experience preferred
• Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
