** 645 PM to 715 AM with rotating weekend schedule.  The
** Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit** (3 South) at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post‐coronary interventions, post‐ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre‐ and post‐catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke.

This 24‐bed unit cares for patients with higher acuity than a typical medical‐surgical unit. 3 South provides an exciting opportunity for nurses seeking growth in a dynamic, high‐acuity environment. * Mentoring and Unit-based Preceptor  The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.

The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.  
** Education
* ** Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
* BSN or MSN preferred.
* Students in process of completing an accredited nursing program.  
** Certification/Licensure
*** Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License
* BLS within 90 days of hire.
* Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
* NIHSS within 1 year of hire  
** Experience
* ** Acute care nursing experience preferred
* Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred

The base pay range for full-time employment is $34.75 - $34.75 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
