Crane Operator, w/ Concrete Experience

We are currently looking for a Crane Operator to join our Heavy Civil Team in the Mid Atlantic, primarily in Maryland and Virginia. The ideal candidate is a motivated and dependable individual. This individual must have the ability to communicate and work well with others. Qualified candidates must have a valid driver’s license, current NCCCO certification, and reliable transportation. Travel is a requirement of this position as work is performed in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Core competencies include design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding, and geotechnical construction services.
Job Requirements- NCCCO certification; TLL and LBC
- Experience with concrete pouring and buckets; experience with driving piles extremely beneficial.
- 3 years experience operating heavy equipment including hydraulic boom (rough terrain), friction truck and/or lattice boom crawler; concrete pouring, clamping.
- Manipulate or depress hand and/or foot controls including pedals, levers and buttons to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal and/or hand signal instructions.
- Observe load hookup and determine safety of load.
- Experience with piles helpful.
- Direct the placing of cribbing for outrigger to prevent capsizing.
- Perform preventative maintenance – clean, lubricate and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism.
- Inspect crane daily for defective parts and record date and malfunction in a log.
- Read and interpret the load charts to determine the safe operating capacity.
- Direct the setup and dismantling of the crane.
- Must also be able to drive piles.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
- Must be able to sit for up to 3‑4 hours at a time.
- Must be able to climb into the cab of equipment and climb down from the equipment cab without assistance.
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl to perform essential tasks including maintenance and inspection of equipment.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Must have the ability to work on uneven surfaces.
- Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
- Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
