Facilities Technicians support the Jamestown‑Yorktown Foundation by performing a wide range of skilled trades and maintenance duties that ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facilities across multiple campuses. This role completes repairs and preventive maintenance in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems, while also assisting grounds and custodial teams as needed. Responsibilities include conducting roof and drainage inspections, maintaining clean and safe work areas, supporting special events, documenting vehicle use, and communicating safety concerns or resource needs to management.

As a designated employee, the technician participates in the on‑call rotation, responds to emergencies and inclement weather, adheres to all safety procedures, and provides timely support to other trades and operational teams to uphold the organization’s mission and facility standards.

• Skilled in the use of electrical and manual tools related to the duties of the position.
• General knowledge of building maintenance and other skilled trades principles such as repair and replacement of basic electrical, HVAC and plumbing fixtures, basic carpentry skills, and small equipment and engine repair, etc.
• Demonstrated abilities to: work with a variety of people, communicate orally and in writing, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to work from heights, ladders or scaffolding, in confined spaces, and varying climates.
• Must be able to lift weights up to 75 lbs.
• Valid Virginia driver's license required.
