Fatherhood Specialist

Fatherhood Williamsburg, VA, US

2 days ago Requisition

Salary: $50,000.00 Annually

Job Description

At Child Development Resources (CDR), we believe every child deserves a strong start—and that strong families are built through meaningful relationships, positive parenting, and supportive communities. We are a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to empowering children and families through early intervention, family support, prevention, and community-based services.

We are seeking an engaging, compassionate, and relationship-driven Fatherhood Specialist to join our Fatherhood First program. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of fathers, children, and families by helping men develop the confidence, skills, and resources they need to become involved, responsible, and nurturing parents.

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic communicator, skilled facilitator, and natural relationship-builder who enjoys working directly with people. We are looking for someone who can inspire fathers, create welcoming learning environments, build trust, and connect families with resources that promote long-term success.

Reporting to the Fatherhood Project Director, the Fatherhood Specialist provides educational workshops, individualized mentoring, case management, and community outreach throughout the Hampton Roads region.

Most importantly, this position offers the opportunity to help fathers strengthen their relationships with their children, build healthier families, and create a positive impact that lasts for generations.

About the Role

The Fatherhood Specialist plays an important role in CDR's Fatherhood First program, which promotes responsible fatherhood, positive parenting, healthy relationships, effective co-parenting, and economic stability.

Through group workshops, individual guidance, and community partnerships, the Fatherhood Specialist helps fathers and father figures develop practical skills, overcome challenges, and become more confident and engaged in their children's lives.

This position combines education, mentoring, case management, and community engagement. Successful candidates will be equally comfortable facilitating an interactive workshop, listening to a father's concerns, helping someone establish personal goals, or collaborating with community organizations to identify resources and opportunities.

The Fatherhood Specialist will work closely with the Fatherhood Project Director, program staff, and community partners to support program success and meaningful outcomes for participating families.
