Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering or related field required, or work experience.
  • Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
Preferred Requirements
  • 5-year Project Management experience preferred
  • Prior knowledge of cost control systems and experience in the use of computerized estimating, quantity takeoff and scheduling programs
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read and thoroughly understand construction plans & specifications
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to problem solve and communicate corrective actions quickly and effectively
  • Ability to work flexible schedules as project management demands fluctuate
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers
Duties and/or Responsibilities
  • Review plans & proposal specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, prepare detailed cost estimates, review sub quotes & material prices, financial forecasting, and prepare written proposals for portfolio of projects.
  • Visit project sites to determine scope of work. Lead and ensure internal preconstruction meetings are thorough and effective.
  • Provide any clarification on information submitted as needed.
  • Provide project administrative management of projects.
  • Coordinate with construction manager and field leadership, establishment of project objectives, procedures, schedules and performance requirements
  • May provide indirect or direct supervision of field crew members/ foreman or superintendents
  • Maintain documentation of quantities and value of work estimate/ completed to support forecasting for future project performance
  • Provide ongoing support to Construction/Operations for efficient and profitable execution of work including scheduling, procurement and change order/ supplemental work processes
  • Monitor / Manage subcontractor's work
  • Partner with contract administrator to review and process financial aspects of contracts (i.e.: billings, subcontract payments, material payments, collections, etc.)
  • Manage assigned projects that were successfully bid
  • Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  • Always work safely and take action to prevent all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Able to work independently and under time constraints.
