Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Discipline Engineer to oversee and evaluate engineering work performed internally and by contractors and sub‑contractors. The ideal candidate will ensure all engineering activities align with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards while facilitating clear communication among project stakeholders. The role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to dynamic project priorities.
Roles And Responsibilities- Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering technical work products.
- Manage communication on discipline engineering, design safety, and regulatory compliance among internal and external teams.
- Review, evaluate, and comment on contractor and sub‑contractor deliverables to ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Identify and assess deviations from contract technical specifications and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate control logs and following proper processes for approvals.
- Handle discipline engineering queries and technical information requests from contractors and sub‑contractors.
- Keep the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager informed about progress, deviations, and any execution concerns.
- Participate in discipline engineering reviews at contractor and sub‑contractor locations.
- Promote and drive capital efficiency in engineering design.
- Support organizational or global engineering initiatives as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10‑15+ years of experience in Instrumentation & controls, and Electrical (Low and Med voltage).
- Experienced with I&E design engineering, construction, and commissioning effort.
- Automation and control knowledge.
- Unconventional O&G facilities experience.
- Familiar with NEC code, ISA standards.
- Experienced in Project Management.
- Location:
Houston, TX with travel to Williston, ND at least one week per month. - Compensation: $89/hr.
- Schedule:
5/2, 40 hours per week. - Reimbursements:
In field IRS mileage.
