Job Summary and Responsibilities
- Produce high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam.
- Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation.
- Instruct and educate patients regarding the ordered test and prepare the patient for the procedure.
- Able to access PACS, review studies, and perform basic functions for image manipulations—resolve QA issues, close studies as reviewed, burn CDs, transfer images, and print from PACS.
- Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
- Maintain order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the department.
- Practice safe work habits, comply with safety rules and regulations, and adhere to safety policies.
- Utilize resources appropriately and follow facility guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited college or technical program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS).
- Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Where You'll WorkAs a Sonographer with CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Medical Center you will support Williston Health Associates by performing diagnostic testing to assist the team in diagnosing and treating patients. You will help uphold the mission, vision, and philosophy of Common Spirit Health by delivering exceptional diagnostic services and following department and organizational policies and procedures. To be successful, you must have solid knowledge of imaging equipment and proper patient positioning, produce and analyze quality images, and continuously strive to deliver a positive experience to patients and caregivers.
Preferred experience as a Sonographer in a Critical Access Hospital is a plus.
