RN Med Surg

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient’s health and continuously monitors; detects changes in symptoms, health, or pain, and takes necessary action; and quickly and accurately assesses patient care needs.
• Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Sets priorities in the care plan based on assessed needs and anticipates personnel, supplies, and equipment required to care for patients.
• Works collaboratively with providers to deliver exceptional care.
• Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Provides patient and family education.
• Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, using the appropriate format and forms.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Associate’s Degree in Nursing.

Required Licensure and Certifications

Licensed by the State of North Dakota Board of Nursing (RN).

Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS).

Certification for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). 6-month grace period.

Certification for Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). 6-month grace period.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training

Strong oral communication skills.

Ability to handle conflict and difficult situations.

Strong critical thinking skills.

Knowledge of regulatory agencies and their standards.

Ability to manage multiple priorities.

$33.60 - $48.73 per hour
