RN, Same Day Surgery

The professional Registered Nurse works under the direct supervision of the Unit Charge RN, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager and the Director of Surgical Services. The RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents the nursing care of patients including those in the following age groups: infancy, childhood, adolescents, adult and geriatrics. This care will be delivered in accordance with established standards of performance.

Participation in quality management, in-service, safety and cost management is ongoing. The nurse is responsible for perioperative care consistent with perioperative nursing standards.

• Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure
• BLS required within orientation period
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months in department
• TNCC course will be attended at least once after orientation to PACU is completed

• RN program as evidenced by licensure
• Official diploma or transcript from the school/university from where Degree was received

• Previous critical care experience is preferred
