Mechanic​/Shop Hand ~ Hamlin Water

Hamlin Water is currently seeking a mechanic/shop hand to join our team! You will be expected to perform maintenance and repairs on industrial water pumps, pickups, trailers, and other field equipment. This role allows for independent work with the entire company as you perform shop repairs or are dispatched to various field locations for on-the-spot repairs, so independent and self‑motivated candidates should find this environment ideal.

• Evaluate and diagnose mechanical problems with equipment throughout company operations
• Travel to various remote sites to accomplish field repairs on any equipment that is unable to be brought to the shop for repairs
• Communicate clearly with mechanical technicians and other team members providing support services during repair operations
• Document work performed and supplies used
• Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical systems on our equipment and in various locations of operation
• Provide routine preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles to avert the need for repairs
• Track and record maintenance rotations for vehicles and equipment
• Maintain a clean shop/location and work space
• Attend required safety meetings and training

• Good written and spoken communication skills
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in industrial equipment
• Valid Driver’s License
• Provide your own tools (preferred)
• Able to manage your time and workflow efficiently
• Able to use problem‑solving skills
• Knowledge of PPE (personal protective equipment)

• One (1) year basic mechanic skills experience with industrial equipment in a similar position
• Able to work 40 to 90 hours per week
