We are seeking a Refrigeration Systems Installation Technician to install, commission, and support the startup of commercial refrigeration and HVAC-related cooling systems delivered by our construction team. This role focuses on the installation of one-to-one split systems, multi-head systems, and VRF/VRV equipment, ensuring all refrigeration piping, connections, and commissioning steps meet manufacturer standards, code requirements, and company quality expectations.
The ideal candidate brings technical expertise in refrigeration installation, demonstrates precision in workmanship, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, reliable installations.
Pay range: $20 - 30 per hour, based on experience.
EssentialJob Duties
- Install refrigeration line sets, branch boxes, indoor/outdoor units, and all associated components for one-to-one, multi-head, and VRF/VRV systems.
- Perform proper brazing, nitrogen purging, pressure testing, triple evacuations, and system charging in compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct complete system startups, verifying correct electrical connections, controls, refrigerant levels, airflow, and overall system performance.
- Document installation steps, test results, and startup data to ensure accurate commissioning records.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with EPA 608 requirements and manufacturer installation instructions.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in clean and safe working order.
- EPA 608 Certification (Type II or Universal).
- 1+ years of experience installing refrigeration or VRF/VRV systems.
- Strong brazing skills with nitrogen purging.
- Ability to run and support the installation of refrigeration line sets.
- Experience performing pressure tests, deep triple evacuations, and refrigerant charging.
- Capability to perform and document full system startups.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Manufacturer certifications (Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Fujitsu, etc.).
- Experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical contracting environments.
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and piping schematics.
