Position DescriptionImmediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Williston, Vermont.
Compensation- Hourly Pay: $35.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700)
- Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
- Hours: Mid Shift 11:30 am – 8:00 pm
- Annual Merit Pay Increases every year

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification / postsecondary degree or technical certifications, preferred
- Basic tools Required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience combined
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
