Position SummaryThe Dispatcher communicates with drivers to assist with problem resolution while on route for residential, commercial, and roll‑off services, coordinates the utilization of drivers, trucks, and containers to create capacity, maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service for all customers.
Compensation & ScheduleCompetitive hourly rate of $20–$26, based on experience; requires 10‑hour shifts Monday through Saturday.
Key Responsibilities- Dispatch drivers to calls as they are received, using information on customer needs, drivers’ locations and loads, and daily factors to balance cost and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding company‑established goals by successfully routing vehicles.
- Assign routes and service to appropriate drivers throughout the day and for the next day; manage and determine route actions and assure route completion.
- Handle incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales departments and manage requests for all pickup or delivery on any container movement within the area.
- Initiate communication to customers while drivers are on site/location, resolve pickup and other issues delaying the service.
- Update and inform Customer Care of any service delays to keep customers notified.
- Prepare, update and dispense daily route schedules; gather and maintain route sheet documentation for pickups (scheduled, missed, extra pickups), route completions and driver locations.
- Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution.
- Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services, and perform any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
High school diploma or GED, legal eligibility to work in the U.S., and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment. Preferred experience in dispatch. High attention to detail, excellent multitasking, listening, communication and problem‑solving skills, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, and strong prioritization.
