Position

Virtual Electrical Designer Drafter

What You’ll Do
  • Accurately and efficiently create, edit, and revise electrical models and drawings.
  • Prepare specifications for electrical contract drawings.
  • Maintain standardized drawing format.
  • Respond to drawing changes with addendums.
  • Layout electrical systems; prepare one‑line diagrams, conduit and wire schedules, panel schedules, and lighting layouts.
  • Perform specialized electrical design computations and analysis.
  • Coordinate design work with Engineers and consultants.
  • Assemble documentation sets and produce drawing sets.
  • Plot drawings as directed by your supervisor.
  • Maintain necessary work documents and keep the Revit and AutoCAD library up to date.
  • Stay current with Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools.
  • Scan and file as‑built drawings from the field; input field information into CAD or Adobe forms for submittal.
  • Gather all required information for project O&M manuals; organize and build both hard‑copy and PDF versions.
  • Review “for construction” documents and integrate their information into electrical documents.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external customers (clients, vendors, and other trades) and represent Willmar Electric professionally at meetings.
  • Attend meetings and maintain communication with the VDC Manager.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled huddle meetings.
  • Adapt to changing priorities, including performing additional duties assigned by your supervisor.
Position Requirements
  • Must know computer programs:
    Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, to the standard of the supervisor – in written and verbal arenas.
  • 2–3 years experience with REVIT, BIM modeling, AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Ability to work with a variety of printer/plotter hardware.
  • Ability to read all types of construction blueprints.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented.
Preferred Candidates Have
  • Knowledge and understanding of the construction industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Solid Works, MEP design, Procore and related software.
