The Role
The Tax Manager is a critical position in a growing firm. You will lead tax engagements, review the team's work, and develop the people around you, while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. It is a great fit for an ambitious professional who wants to make a visible impact on clients, the team, and the community.
What You Will Do
- Manage a portfolio of tax and accounting engagements, often several at once
- Review individual and business tax returns and ensure quality and compliance
- Lead tax research and deliver clear, practical solutions to clients and team members
- Guide tax planning strategies that help clients improve their tax position
- Prepare and review technical memos and other client deliverables
- Anticipate client concerns, resolve issues, and identify ways to improve service
- Supervise, mentor, and train a growing team of seniors, staff, and interns
- Build relationships with referral sources and centers of influence to support firm growth
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- About 5 to 8+ years of public accounting tax experience
- CPA required (EA considered)
- Proven experience reviewing returns and supervising staff
- Strong knowledge of individual and business tax and current legislation
- Excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills
