Part-time Faculty:
Division of Health Technologies
Lakeland Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for part-time teaching opportunities in the Health Technologies Division. Faculty may be assigned to teach various HLTH courses delivered on-campus (face-to-face), in a hybrid format (combination of in-person and online instruction), or fully online. In person Instruction occurs at Lakeland Community College 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland, Ohio.
Semester: Daytime hours, as needed, during Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions.
Please note: Course schedules vary by semester and are subject to change based on enrollment and staffing; however, candidates must be available to teach during daytime hours, which is a requirement for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction aligned with course and program learning outcomes, including accreditation standards where applicable.
- Prepare and present engaging lesson plans and course materials.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and active learning environment.
- Provide students with clearly defined expectations, evaluations, and timelines through an approved syllabus and topical outline.
- Accurately maintain and submit grade books, final grade sheets, assessment tools, and any other required documentation in a timely manner.
- Track and report individual student progress and submit this documentation to the course coordinator at the end of the semester.
- Promote student success through professional engagement, timely communication, and responsiveness to student needs.
- Respond promptly to college and departmental communications and administrative requests.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in a healthcare setting as a certified, licensed, or registered healthcare professional.
- Must hold current and valid certification, licensure, or registration in your respective field.
- Must have availability to teach during daytime hours; daytime teaching is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate, Bachelor's, or Master’s degree in a health-related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Prior teaching experience in a post-secondary academic setting.
- Experience teaching online and/or in hybrid modalities.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and support students from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with instructional technology and willingness to integrate technology-based teaching strategies.
- Primarily available during daytime hours, with flexible scheduling capability to accommodate evening, weekend, or special program needs.
