Job SummaryThe Intake Coordinator (Intake Assessor) handles assessment and referral activities at the facility. This position interfaces closely with medical staff, department members, administration, treatment team, external case managers, and managed care organizations.
Responsibilities- Conduct assessment and referral activities for new clients.
- Coordinate with medical staff and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate client records in the Center’s system.
- Communicate with external case managers and managed care organizations.
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health, related field, or licensed RN.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
- Experience with clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family treatment, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Clean, well‑lit office. Intake coordinators may sit or stand for extended periods, and the environment is high‑stress with continuous low‑volume office machine noise.
Additional Requirements- Training in non‑violent physical crisis intervention.
- CPR certification prior to independent assignment or completion of orientation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities.
