Plastic Injection Molding Machine Operator
We are seeking an experienced Plastic Injection Molding Machine Operator. The Plastic Injection Molding Machine Operator is responsible for operating molding machines in accordance with established best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality production of parts. This role involves monitoring processes, performing quality checks, conducting basic maintenance, and troubleshooting issues to maintain optimal machine performance. The operator plays a key role in maximizing machine uptime and supporting continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Available Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (M – TH)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
- Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- Operate or tend to plastic molding machines to mold thermoplastic parts.
- Remove finished or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses, and other equipment, stamping identifying information on products when necessary.
- Handle and trim excess material from parts.
- Turn valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times.
- Responsible for start-up and shut-down of the injection molding machines.
- Perform the color changes involved with machines.
- Loading/unloading and inspection of parts.
- Visually check parts for changes in color, texture and conformity with part standards.
- Report any machine deficiencies to molding maintenance.
- Maintain equipment and department clean at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school education or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience operating plastic injection molding machines.
- Proficient with the functions and capabilities of injection molding machinery.
