The General Manager (GM) is the clear link between Bloomingdale's brand vision and the day‑to‑day execution in the store. As a local business owner with a shopkeeper mindset, the GM drives business priorities to achieve financial results, leads and develops the store team, and sets the standard for an outstanding customer experience.

• The GM has an entrepreneurial mindset, uses data and intuition to grow the business, and collaborates with partners to elevate standards in service, visual aesthetics, and more.
• Focuses on the customer by championing an omnichannel model, deepening customer discovery, and delivering elevated, differentiated services to strengthen relationships.
• Exhibits strong influencing and relationship‑building skills internally and externally, building cross‑functional partnerships and serving as a brand ambassador in the community.
• Gathers a strong appreciation for merchandising, articulates market needs, partners with merchants, sells what we have, and advocates for what we need, balancing art and science.
• Serves as the chief talent manager, guiding and structuring teams, motivating staff with clear expectations and accountability, coaching for development and future leadership.
• Demonstrates command skills, inspirational floor‑present leadership, clear communication, and acts as a culture creator and carrier.
• Displays functional proficiency, operational excellence, P&L ownership, and delivers on key performance indicators with a high say‑do ratio.
• Is agile, prioritizes in a fast‑paced environment, juggling multiple projects, making quick decisions, and executing multipart retail strategies.

• Bachelor's degree from a 4‑year college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years direct experience managing a retail location.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and holidays.

• Prolonged standing and walking around the store or department.
• Reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and color vision may be required.
• Frequent use of computers, handheld equipment, and cash registers to process transactions.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs.
