Senior Accountant - Tax & Small Business

BLS, one of the largest and most established certified public accounting firms in Delaware, is seeking professionals with experience or advanced technical knowledge in financial statements (compilations, reviews and audits) and tax compliance for for-profit business entities, including preparing and reviewing work papers and preparing the financial statements and returns needed for tax compliance.

• Planning and executing compilation, review and audit engagements for a variety of for-profit organizations
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements
• Preparing semi-complex tax returns
• Making inquiries to various tax authorities
• Resolving accounting problems and tax issues
• Mentoring new staff on assignments, if applicable

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2-5 years of public accounting experience in a tax environment
• CPA certification, or evidence of working toward certification
• Working knowledge of GAAP and small business tax compliance
• Ability to work independently

• Working knowledge of Pro System/Axcess software, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, Microsoft Office and other programs related to tax planning, depreciation and accounting
