Position OverviewAre you ready to become the financial cornerstone of a rapidly expanding construction leader? The company is searching for an ambitious and seasoned Senior Estimator to drive our continued growth! In this key role you are reporting directly to the Vice President, you'll be the strategic force overseeing and executing all project cost estimation activities, from initial project analysis to final cost summaries.
You will ensure our financial success and alignment with strategic goals while having the crucial responsibility of overseeing subordinate estimating personnel.
- Evaluate potential projects for bidding compared to Company competencies.
- Prepare and submit bids based on Lump Sum, Unit Price and/or written scope proposals.
- Obtain bidding documents and information to distribute to estimators.
- Manage the bidding schedule and coordinate with the team to balance workloads and achieve bid deadlines.
- Perform take-offs and prepare estimates for various public and private clients.
- Work with estimators and project managers to provide guidance and bid review.
- Thoroughly prepare and review public works bid packages ensuring full compliance as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders.
- Ensure all bid deadlines are met and submitted with correct documentation.
- Manage and update the estimate costs in estimating software to keep pace with market conditions.
- Upon award of contracts, work with operations on general requirements, staffing and schedules.
- Prepare project budgets and manage costs throughout projects in coordination with Construction Accounting.
- Coordinate communications, progress, and change orders with clients and engineers.
- Prepare various reports, including monthly invoice worksheets for the Accounting Department.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field. - Experience:
Ten plus years of experience in construction estimating. - Leadership
Experience:
Three years of experience in a leadership role. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
