Rate of pay: $15.00 – $20.00. Final compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
Program Specialist (Dance): A Dance Program Specialist is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of dance programs within the YMCA. This role involves developing dance curricula for various age groups and skill levels, instructing students, and ensuring a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment. The Dance Program Specialist works to foster creativity, discipline, and physical fitness through dance, ensuring that each participant has an enriching and enjoyable experience.
Responsibilities- Develop, and implement dance programs that cater to a wide range of ages and skill levels.
- Create dance curricula and lesson plans, incorporating different dance styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, and contemporary.
- Continuously update and adapt the program to include new trends, techniques, and best practices in dance education.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
- Previous experience as a dance instructor or performer (2-3 years preferred).
- Experience teaching various styles of dance (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary).
- Strong understanding of dance techniques, choreography, and performance practices.
- Familiarity with dance theory, safety protocols, and injury prevention.
- Multi-lingual skills
- Additional qualifications specific to each program (such as certifications or degrees in dance, sports, or education)
