Required:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
- Valid Delaware medical license, CSR and DEA
- Board certification/eligibility in pediatric cardiology
- Formal advanced fellowship training or significant experience in congenital cardiac catheterization and interventions
- Minimum 7 years of cardiac catheterization clinical experience or experience and accomplishments commensurate with at the level of Associate Professor or Professor
- Previous leadership experience in an academic setting preferred
- Strong Research Portfolio and experience with device trials and active registry involvement is preferred
Congenital and Interventional Catheterization Program Highlights and Clinical Responsibilities
- The Director will be one of two full-time pediatric interventional cardiologists who perform the full complement of catheterizations from newborn through adults with congenital heart disease and provide 24/7 cath coverage at our hospital. We currently perform approximately 300 diagnostic and interventional cath procedures annually, including post-transplant surveillance evaluations (biopsies) and hybrid interventions. We are enrolled in the IMPACT and C3PO registries.
Additional registry enrollments are pending. - The Director will work with hospital administration and the Cardiac Center leadership team to optimize the program s structure and administrative organization.
- The Director will be responsible for ensuring excellent procedural outcomes and for providing cutting-edge interventional technologies in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
- The Director will lead and encourage all academic aspects of the program and its members, including scientific investigation, implementation of robust quality improvement processes, and Fellow education/curriculum development.
- The Director will oversee data and inventory management for the program s clinical activities.
- The Director will care for patients and their families both in inpatient and outpatient settings. Night and weekend call coverage will be performed in rotation with other members of the cardiology team.
- The Director will participate in Cardiac Center conferences including but not limited to surgical and cath conferences, Morbidity & Mortality conferences, etc.
