Youth​/Young Adult Director​/Pastor

Position Summary

Charis Community Church exists to make disciples who know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. We are prayerfully seeking a qualified man to serve as Youth / Young Adult Director / Pastor, providing biblical leadership and oversight for all aspects of ministry to middle school, high school, and young adults.

Lead Pastor

• Provide vision, direction, and oversight for all youth and young adult ministry programs, events, and activities.
• Ensure all ministry efforts align with the mission, vision, and values of Charis Community Church.
• Develop annual goals and plans for youth and young adult ministry in cooperation with the Lead Pastor.
• Lead and teach the weekly mid-week youth Bible study/service.
• Oversee and coordinate Sunday School for middle school students.
• Teach and disciple young adults through Bible studies, small groups, and mentoring.
• Preach and teach the Word of God faithfully.
• Build intentional relationships with students, young adults, and parents.
• Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and biblical counsel to students, young adults, and their families.
• Develop a clear discipleship pathway that encourages spiritual maturity, service, and leadership.
• Organize and lead youth and young adult activities, service projects, mission trips, and outreach opportunities.
• Encourage and equip students and young adults to engage in personal evangelism and ministry participation.
• Plan annual retreats or camp experiences that strengthen discipleship and community.
• Develop strategies for outreach and discipleship among young adults, including ministry opportunities connected to the University of Delaware.
• Identify, recruit, and train volunteers to serve in youth and young adult ministry.
• Provide ongoing leadership development, encouragement, and accountability to ministry team members.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, young adults, and volunteers regarding ministry plans and needs.

• A man with a clear testimony of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
• Meets the biblical qualifications for elder/pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
• Demonstrates a calling to pastoral ministry with a heart for youth and young adult discipleship.
  
  Agreement with and commitment to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
• Exhibits spiritual maturity, humility, and a servant-leader mindset.
• Strong skills in biblical teaching, leadership, organization, and communication.
• Experience in youth and/or young adult ministry or equivalent leadership role preferred.
• Willing to church plant in the future.

Required Materials:

• Résumé, including ministry and work experience.
• Personal testimony of salvation and call to ministry.
• Written statement affirming the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and agreeing not to teach doctrine contrary to it.
• At least three references, including one pastoral reference.
