Gateway Charter School Teacher - Kindergarten
Responsibilities- Deliver arts-integrated lesson plans in a way that captures the attention of students and keeps them occupied and excited about learning.
- Seek to improve instruction as measured by student results; "If students don’t learn the way I teach, then I must change the way I teach so that students will learn."
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and dynamic classroom environment for young learners.
- Implement research-based, experiential, and multi-sensory instructional strategies tailored to kindergarten students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the developmental and academic needs of individual students.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to inform and refine teaching practices.
- Utilize technology to enhance instruction and engage young learners.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and the school community to support each child's success.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of student progress and behavior.
- Provide timely communication to families through updates, progress reports, and conferences.
- Uphold classroom procedures and school wide policies to ensure a positive learning environment.
- Actively participate in professional learning communities and engage in ongoing professional growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the kindergarten curriculum and align with school wide goals.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Possess or be eligible for teacher licensure/certification in Delaware, preferably with endorsements in Early Childhood Education.
- Strong foundation in child development and early learning principles.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to foster a love of learning in young children.
- Skilled in classroom management, lesson planning, and fostering social-emotional growth.
- Familiarity with multi-sensory instructional approaches and arts integration is a plus.
- Effective communicator with the ability to build partnerships with families and colleagues.
