First State Urgent Vet – Wilmington is seeking an outgoing Client Service Representative to serve as the welcoming face of our urgent care hospital.

In this fast-paced urgent care setting, you will create exceptional client experiences, build trust through compassionate service, manage appointments and daily patient flow, handle multi-line phones and in-person interactions, process transactions, and support clients with essential information about our services — often during stressful, time-sensitive situations that require calm, clear communication and genuine empathy. Ideal candidates are friendly, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrive in a team-focused environment where urgency and compassion go hand in hand.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $18 - $21 per hour, for each hour worked

  This is a full-time position
  , with a 4 x 10 schedule and availability needed Monday–Sunday with rotating weekend shifts. Clinic hours are 10:00 AM–7:00 PM, 7 days a week.

  7:00 PM is our last check-in time, not our closing time — some evenings may run later, and flexibility is a must. No on-call requirements.

M
inimum qualifications and skill set:

• 1+ years of experience in a customer service, reception, or client-facing role
• Previous veterinary receptionist or healthcare-related front-desk experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Ability to manage a multi-phone line system while assisting in-person clients
  • Experience working with veterinary practice management software,
    especially Pulse,preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate, professional service to clients during both routine and emotionally sensitive situations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars preferred
  • Ability to accurately process payments and maintain financial records
  • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with a team
  • Ability to remain calm, professional and solution-oriented during busy periods
