Institutional Trust Officer

Piper Companies is hiring an Institutional Trust Officer to join a growing, well-established trust company in Wilmington, DE. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong trust administration or retirement plan experience looking to take on a client-facing, fiduciary-focused role.

Responsibilities for the Institutional Trust Officer

• Manage trust accounts (retirement plans, foundations, escrows) from setup to termination
• Serve as a primary contact for clients, recordkeepers, and advisors
• Ensure compliance with ERISA and fiduciary policies
• Review trust docs, process distributions, and complete annual account reviews
• Handle internal records, reports, and payment processing
• Help evaluate new business opportunities with a fiduciary lens

Qualifications for the Institutional Trust Officer

• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years’ experience in institutional trust, custody, or retirement plan admin
• Knowledge of ERISA, trust/fiduciary rules, and investment basics
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and client service skills
• Organized and detail-oriented, with solid Excel and system experience
• Able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation for the Institutional Trust Officer

• Type:
  Full-time, permanent
• Salary: $100,000-$150,000 (Plus Bonus)
• Requires onsite availability 3 days per week in Wilmington, DE
