Brandywine Counseling & Community Services (BCCS) has served the Wilmington, Delaware community since 1985, offering substance abuse and behavioral health treatment, education, advocacy, prevention, early intervention, and treatment services. The Outreach Worker is a key member of our PCCP Program, engaging in on‑site outreach programming at BCCS Drop‑in Centers and statewide community partners. The role supports harm reduction efforts, provides health education, and connects clients to services.

• Participate in on‑site outreach programming at BCCS Drop‑in Centers and statewide with the medical mobile outreach team and harm reduction team.
• Distribute condoms, first aid kits, harm reduction supplies, and other materials as directed during mobile vehicle activities or at Drop‑in Centers.
• Provide referrals to drug treatment, health care, and social services.
• Maintain an accurate, current resource and referral guide and build relationships with referral sources.
• Promote new programs and initiatives for participants and community members.
• Drive the BCCS RV or Van to mobile outreach sites, home deliveries, and events as requested by the Supervisor.
• Provide education on HIV/AIDS, HCV, Xylazine, Monkeypox, and other emerging trends, including safer sex and risk reduction information tailored to designated populations.
• Staff community outreach, education, and testing events during the day, evening, and/or weekends as directed by the Supervisor.
• Assist with front‑desk duties at the Drop‑in Center and direct clients to services such as laundry, shower, coffee, telephone, and computer assistance, and coordinate HIV and HCV education, testing, and counseling.
• Enter data into tracking software.
• Assist with wound care clinics and provide wound care education on site and in the community.
• Collect drug supply samples and ship to the drug checking center.
• Provide case management to clients as needed.
• Apply trauma‑informed care principles and recovery‑oriented systems of care in all interactions.
• Coordinate outreach locations with Gibney Mobile Healthcare and the community.

• Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associate degree.
• Required: 6–12 months of experience in behavioral health, substance use, or mental health field.
• Preferred: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or CPRS eligibility.
• Required: Valid driver's license with 2 points or less.
• Required: Must be a peer – anyone in recovery from addiction to drugs, alcohol, or mental health.
• Required: Minimum of 2 years in recovery.

• Starting at $16/hour.
• Commensurate with education, experience, and certification.

• Monday–Friday
• 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Occasional nights and weekends.
