Base pay range: $19.84/hr – $29.76/hr

Christiana Care’s Center for Surgical Optimization at Wilmington is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant II. The role supports patients from decision to surgery to the day of surgery, managing comorbidities, and providing education for best post‑surgery outcomes.

• Monday through Friday: 7:30 am to 4 pm.
• Will be required to work at satellite locations in Newark, when applicable.
• No weekends or holidays.

• Assist clinicians in patient examination and treatment, promoting patient satisfaction.
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, and interdepartmental staff to ensure seamless patient care delivery and fiscal management.
• Greet and support patients, record vitals, and perform point‑of‑care testing, venipuncture, ECG, and specimen collection.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies, perform quality control on POCT equipment, and complete patient‑specific paperwork.
• Handle patient call backs, schedule tests, and perform daily operational activities.
• Coordinate patient care activities with insurance companies, care managers, and physician office staff to minimize financial risk and maximize patient care delivery.

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by NCCA or ANSI.
• BLS certification.
• At least 2 years of progressively responsible clinical administrative experience.
• 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Associate degree in business/Medical related field preferred.
• Previous insurance or third‑party experience preferred.
