Ballroom Manager (including Event Sales administrative support)
Position Summary:
Responsible for the complete coordination of service to all on-site ballroom events and off-premise events in accordance with Harry’s established standards. Ensures successful execution of all ballroom and catering events. Exceeds the guest’s expectations and Harry’s expectations of high quality of service and continuously improving that quality of service.
Part of Harry's Savoy Ballroom offerings a high-volume facility serving wedding, corporate and social events.
Responsibilities- Coordinate service for all on-site ballroom events and off-premise events in accordance with established standards.
- Ensure successful execution of all ballroom and catering events.
- Strive to exceed guest expectations and maintain high quality of service, with ongoing improvements.
- Hire, train, supervise, and develop all ballroom-related personnel, including house attendants.
- Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of interior and exterior of the property.
- Assist ballroom sales managers with administrative tasks related to corporate, wedding and social events to ensure successful events.
- Education – College degree in restaurant/hotel management preferred.
- Experience – Minimum of 3 years banquet and/or catering management experience. Includes experience in various phases of operation, strong cost control understanding. Proven success with progressive training and staff development. Strong knowledge of food, beverage and wine. Experience with administration of policies and procedures and corrective coaching when needed.
- Certification – Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission Certification, Serv Safe Manager Certification, Serv Safe Allergen Certification required. First Aid and CPR preferred.
- Skills – Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language of work location. Guest-focused with high standards of conduct and professionalism. Proven ability to lead a team to deliver results. Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication. Ability to operate independently and proactively. Positive, flexible, and hands-on with the ability to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple assignments. Proficient in MS Word/Excel, Outlook.
- Physical – Ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally and up to 40 pounds frequently. Ability to stand and move for periods up to eight hours.
