About the roleWe are looking for a People & Culture Manager who will join the Operations team, taking ownership of building world-class HR and people operations at Colossyan, with specific focus on the team in Hungary.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in early-stage startup environments and loves rolling up their sleeves to get things done. You ll have autonomy from day one and will influence and shape our people strategy from the ground up, with ownership and empowerment to drive meaningful change.

You ll have the space and authority to make impactful decisions that directly influence our company culture and growth trajectory.
Key Ownership Areas- HR Operations:
Build and scale HR processes, policies, and systems that support our rapid growth - Recruitment:
Lead talent acquisition strategy and execution, ensuring we continue attracting exceptional people (with both a local and global focus) - Office Management:
Oversee our Budapest office operations and employee experience initiatives, ensuring we create a slick, well managed and fun place to work - People Compliance:
Ensure we meet all legal and regulatory requirements across our international team. SOC2 + GDPR framework experiences are plus.
- Design and implement people strategies that align with our business objectives and cultural values
- Lead recruitment efforts to attract, assess and hire top talent across all functions
- Shape our performance management, compensation and employee development programs
- Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction
- Build scalable HR processes and systems to support our growth from 50+ to 100+ employees
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions
- Partner with leadership on organisational design, culture development, and change management
- Take proactive ownership of people initiatives – we want someone who sees opportunities and acts on them
- Be critical and honest about our people practices, pushing for continuous improvement
- 4+ years of recruitment experience with a proven track record of hiring exceptional talent in startup environments
- T-shaped HR professional with deep recruitment expertise and broad people operations knowledge
- Leadership experience with the ability to influence and drive change at a senior level
- Passion for early-stage startups – you love the energy, pace, and hands-on nature of startup life
- Track record of proactive initiatives you ve owned and successfully implemented
- Experience building HR functions from the ground up or scaling them rapidly
- Strong understanding of employment law and compliance requirements
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Hungarian
- Comes to the office all week (Budapest-based)
- Genuine love for the field of HR and helping people thrive in their careers
