Placers is seeking a Director of Human Resources for a respected client headquartered in Wilmington, DE
. This senior leadership role will build and lead a modern, people‑centric HR function for an organization of approximately 500 employees
, with direct oversight of 3–4 national locations across Wilmington, DE and surrounding states.
This is a hands‑on, strategic opportunity offering the autonomy to design HR strategy from the ground up while partnering closely with executive leadership. The organization operates across multiple national and international sites, with continued U.S. expansion planned.
What You’ll Do- Build and lead a modern HR department, owning structure, systems, policies, and processes
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, aligning HR with business and operational goals
- Design compensation, performance management, and workforce planning strategies
- Lead employee relations, compliance, and multi‑state HR operations
- Leverage AI, HR technology, and HRIS to modernize people operations
- Maintain strong onsite presence and leadership visibility
- 10+ years of HR experience; 5+ years in senior HR leadership
- Multi‑site experience within retail, manufacturing, automotive, or sales‑driven environments
- SHRM certification required
- Proven ability to modernize HR functions and scale operations
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Must be within commuting distance of Wilmington, DE
