Introduction

Each of the more than 500 staff who work in the Office of the Attorney General are dedicated to serving all Delawareans with integrity and passion. Deputy Attorneys General, with critical support from criminal special investigators, victim service specialists, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff, prosecute criminal cases, enforce consumer laws, provide counsel to state agencies, ensure the public's access to open government, protect the abused, and much more.

The Delaware Department of Justice is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated individual to join the Investor Protection Unit in the Fraud & Consumer Protection Division in the New Castle County office as a Casual/Seasonal Deputy Attorney General.

This Deputy Attorney General will be part of the team responsible for enforcing the provisions of the Delaware Securities Act (6 Del.

C. ch. 73), which regulates the offer and sale of securities and the activities of investment professionals in the State of Delaware. The Unit investigates and prosecutes (administratively, civilly, and criminally) violations of the Act and administers provisions relating to the registration and licensing of securities and investment professionals.

This is a challenging position that provides an opportunity to pursue large and complex investigations and cases against some of the best attorneys in the country, while collaborating with colleagues from across North America on large-scale matters.

This is a Casual/Seasonal position, which is non-pension eligible and does not include healthcare or other benefits. The position is currently approved for up to 37.5 hours per week and offers flexible telework opportunities, with eligibility to work remotely up to three days per week

• Pay Grade 12 DAG I – Hourly Salary Range $40.77/min – $44.85/max
• Pay Grade 14 DAG II – Hourly Salary Range $47.31/min – $49.62/max
• Pay Grade 16 DAG III – Hourly Salary Range $52.25/min – $53.40/max
• Pay Grade 18 DAG IV – Hourly Salary Range $57.44/min – $60.22/max
• Pay Grade 20 DAG V – Hourly Salary Range $64.55/min – $69.30/max

This Deputy Attorney General should be able to work independently and meet deadlines. Solid academic achievement, relevant work experience, and familiarity with securities transactions and financial services are preferred. We seek an individual with a strong commitment to serving the public interest. A Juris Doctor degree is required, along with admission to the Delaware Bar or a willingness to sit for the next available Delaware Bar Exam.
