We are seeking a results-driven Business and Finance Manager to lead and strengthen the financial, operational, and strategic functions of a fast-growing, mission-driven organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep expertise in GAAP, project cost accounting, pricing, and reporting and thrives in environments where they can shape systems, improve processes, and directly influence growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Strategy
- Implement financial best practices and ensure GAAP compliance across all reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, and activity reports to guide strategic decisions.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to ensure long-term stability and growth.
- Oversee project cost accounting, pricing strategies, and margin optimization.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising the organization’s long-term financial health.
- Study market trends and sector-specific data to inform strategic planning and maximize growth opportunities.
- Maintain internal controls, coordinate audits, and ensure adherence to regulatory and funder requirements.
- Maintain an accurate filing and record-keeping system for all financial statements and company documents.
- Automate and improve reporting processes to increase efficiency.
Grant, Project Tracking & Reporting
- Develop and manage grant proposal budgets in partnership with program teams.
- Track project financial performance, including budgets, expenditures, and milestones, to ensure alignment with funder requirements.
- Prepare timely, accurate financial and progress reports for grants and projects.
- Collaborate with program managers to ensure financial transparency and compliance for funded initiatives.
Operations & Business Development Support
- Oversee daily office operations, vendor management, procurement, and facilities.
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for scalability.
- Support business development with financial insights, pricing proposals, and ROI modeling.
- Track project finances from initiation to invoicing, ensuring billing accuracy and timely reporting.
Human Resources & Governance
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Maintain compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
- Prepare board materials and maintain governance documentation, licenses, and certifications.
WORK HOURS & BENEFITS
This is a full-time, exempt position based in Wilmington, Delaware. Standard work hours are Monday–Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work to meet deadlines. Some local travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field
- 3+ years in nonprofit or small business finance, operations, and HR leadership
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, Project Cost Accounting, Quick Books Online, budgeting, and financial reporting
