Scismic is supporting an exciting company looking for a hands‑on scientist or engineer to support the manufacturing of SPIONs used in regulated applications. This role focuses on nanoparticle synthesis, surface modification, and maintaining high‑quality, reproducible production within a GMP environment.

• Perform iron oxide nanoparticle formation using controlled solution chemistry and inert‑gas reaction conditions.
• Apply stabilizing surface coatings and manage colloidal behavior.
• Run end‑to‑end batch production using reactors, separation systems, and analytical tools.
• Evaluate particle size, charge, coating integrity, and magnetic response.
• Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with QA, Operations, and Engineering.
• Support scale‑up efforts and mentor junior team members.

• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Direct experience synthesizing iron‑oxide or similar nanoparticles.
• Knowledge of colloid stability, surface chemistry, and dispersion.
• Familiarity with GMP or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with nanoparticle characterization (e.g., DLS, zeta potential, ICP).

Location: On‑site in Wilmington, DE (lab + cleanroom).
