Machine Operator Job Description
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring equipment such as rolling mills, CNC machines, and lathes. You will make precise adjustments to machine settings to meet product specifications and ensure consistent quality. Loading raw materials and handling finished products safely will also be part of your daily routine.
Responsibilities- Ensure quality by adjusting machine settings to meet specifications and inspecting finished products for accuracy.
- Maintain and troubleshoot machinery by performing routine maintenance, identifying issues, and working with the maintenance team for repairs.
- Prioritize safety by following all safety protocols, wearing PPE, and promptly reporting hazards.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in training sessions to enhance your skills.

Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience operating machinery in a steel plant or similar industrial setting
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to utilize computer software
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting industrial machinery
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Familiarity with CNC programming and operation is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a non‑temp controlled fabrication shop with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy machinery. The role requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs for extended periods. Occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required to meet project deadlines.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, DE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
