The Assistant Director of Nursing will supervise the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department in accordance with current regulations to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained at all times. Cadia is dedicated to providing the best care possible and that’s where you come in!
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist DON in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating day-to-day functions of the nursing department, including therapy, in accordance with state & federal regulations.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by participating in or conducting mock surveys, patient interviews & randomly assessing medical administration records.
- Review 24-hour report from every unit daily to monitor & ensure timely, effective responses to significant changes in resident conditions, transfers, discharges, unexplained injuries, falls, behavioral episodes, medication errors, etc.
- Collaborate with physicians, consultants, community agencies & institutions to improve quality of services & to resolve identified problems.
- Coordinate/oversee Restorative Program & restorative staff, as needed.
- Conduct compliance & nursing rounds on all units as needed several times a day, including the beginning & end of each shift, speaking with residents/family and/or staff as needed.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state or compact state.
- Must have 2 years’ experience as an RN, with 2 years management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations preferred.
- Current, unencumbered, active RN license in the applicable state or compact state.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 2 years of management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
