School Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM (32.5 hours/week)

Duration: 26 weeks

The School Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for applying the nursing process and delivering comprehensive student care in a school setting. This role supports the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students, promotes health and safety, responds to medical emergencies, manages chronic conditions, and serves as a liaison between families, school staff, and healthcare providers. All services are provided in accordance with Amergis’ philosophy, standards, policies, and physician orders.

• Promote health and safety within the school environment
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies
• Manage chronic health conditions and administer medications as prescribed
• Collaborate with families, school staff, and healthcare providers
• Maintain accurate health records and comply with all regulatory requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
• One year of school nursing, public health, or pediatric experience preferred

• This is an alternative school setting with a strong student population of children with behavioral challenges.
• Nurse must be comfortable working in this type of environment.
• Students will be escorted by a security guard when visiting the nurse’s office.
