Christiana Hospital is seeking an experienced RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to support the 4N Medical Unit . This role requires strong intermediate-level nursing skills, experience with higher-acuity medical patients, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Unit: 4N Medical PCU

• Patient Acuity: Intermediate (Step-Down)

• Floating: Required within similar acuity areas

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to intermediate-acuity PCU patients , including cardiac and medical step-down populations.

• Perform continuous patient monitoring , assessment, and documentation in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards.

• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely while monitoring patient response and clinical changes.

• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.

• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and escalate care as needed.

• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.

• Participate in patient education , discharge planning, and family communication.

• Float to comparable units as needed to support staffing and patient care demands.

• Maintain compliance with infection control, patient safety, and quality improvement standards.

• Active Delaware RN license or Compact license (must be in hand)

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Step-Down experience (required; no exceptions)

• RN license number and expiration date

• Current certifications (with expiration dates)

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required

• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend

• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday

• Call Requirement: Yes
