The Analytical Chemistry will support an interdisciplinary process chemistry and engineering team focused on the scale-up and commercialization of product candidates within the Emerging Technologies organization. This role provides analytical chemistry support for organic synthesis, polymerization, and process development in a collaborative team environment. This position is 100% on-site.
Responsibilities Sample Analysis- Perform analytical measurements in a fast-paced environment to support R&D and pilot production of materials supplied to customers.
- Conduct analyses for molecular weight characterization, residual monomers and solvents, identification of unknown components, and purity assessment for polymers and small molecules across multiple projects.
- Serve as an effective and productive member of project teams, coordinating analytical measurements as needed.
- Manage and maintain analytical laboratories, including SOP development, equipment maintenance, instrument upkeep, and safety documentation.
- Maintain electronic lab notebooks and deliver clear, accurate analytical reports.
- Demonstrate a strong safety track record and commitment to zero incidents/injuries.
- Work safely with hazardous chemicals and follow all safety procedures.
- Consistently meet project goals on aggressive timelines.
- Proficiency with analytical techniques such as:
- HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS
- GC, GC-MS
- GPC
- Karl Fischer titration, rheometry, UV-Vis spectroscopy
- Knowledge of organic chemistry and electronic materials is a plus.
- BS/MS in Chemistry with a minimum of two years of analytical experience (industrial experience preferred).
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in an R&D or pilot plant environment is a plus.
