Chemist / Customer Service Representative

IGK is looking for a chemist/customer service rep to join our research team and participate in high-level, complex research projects. We seek a qualified candidate with an expert understanding of lab procedures. Responsibilities include testing chemical substances through various methods to ensure the safety, functionality and quality of a chemical product. The chemist will also generate comprehensive technical reports that provide insight into a project, allowing the team to develop solutions as needed and conduct any additional tests.

• Prepare, weigh, and use solutions for various laboratory procedures
• Analyze chemical substances to identify their composition
• Customize formulas and run tests to improve the quality of a chemical product
• Draft detailed reports conveying experimental results and presenting findings to other scientists
• Monitor laboratory equipment to minimize malfunctions and adhere to safety regulations
• Customer visits for problem shooting and product research development

• Develop and conduct tests for chemical ingredients, substances, and materials
• Participate in high-level chemical research projects and create improved testing methods
• Sterilize all used equipment and organize tools in safe areas
• Use chemical substances or sources like heat and energy to produce reactions

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in chemistry, or other relevant field
• Strong knowledge of laboratory technology, tools, and tests
• Clear written communication skills to produce accurate lab reports
• Solid understanding of lab health and safety regulations
• Exceptional analytical research skills
• Adequate computer skills

• Experience working in a laboratory setting
• Additional certifications relevant to region
• Excellent time‑management skills when meeting important deadlines
• Ability to think strategically and develop effective solutions
• Experience in sealant manufacturing is an asset
• Motivated and a positive attitude a must
• Assist in customer trials
• Ready to be available for site customer site visits
• Assist production in new product development
