Produce Clerk (Part-Time) – BJ’s Wholesale Club

Sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. Maintains the overall environment of the department by providing assistance to Members through product knowledge and customer service. Ensures that all produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.

• Provide assistance to Members in the produce department; answer questions, recommend products, give safe handling tips, and help Members locate items throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery; verify that all received produce meets or exceeds company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to ensure optimal freshness and variety; keep cases and display areas fully stocked, neat, and clean; remove items that are no longer suitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area; date and rotate all back‑stock items; keep the storage area organized and condensed daily.
• Follow established guidelines when disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize all produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate signage for produce goods and perform price check functions when necessary; ensure all items are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Move frequently on hard surfaces; bend, climb, crawl, handle, pull, reach, and stoop as required.
• Lift objects up to 30 pounds; occasionally lift heavier objects with assistance.
• Work in a comfortable indoor environment with exposure to temperature extremes from freezers and coolers.

• Preferred:
  Work experience in a produce department.
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of fruit and vegetables, including seasonal items.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
