Full‑time. Join Macy’s as a Counter Manager leading a dynamic team of Beauty Advisors to deliver personalized beauty consultations and drive sales for a specific cosmetics brand.
Base Pay Range$16.50/hr – $25.50/hr
Job OverviewAs Counter Manager, you will lead a team, manage all aspects of a cosmetics brand, deliver exceptional hospitality, create meaningful customer connections, meet and exceed sales goals, analyze performance, execute vendor events, oversee stock presentation, hygiene standards, and team performance.
Responsibilities- Lead the team through action, welcoming customers, building lasting relationships.
- Maintain a shoppable space, ensuring testers clean, signage current, displays reflect brand standards.
- Coach team to share loyalty benefits, ensuring customers leave with everything they need.
- Model collaboration and care, supporting peers to serve customers and communities.
- Analyze daily, weekly, seasonal, and annual sales results and implement strategies to grow business.
- Plan and execute in‑store and vendor‑led events to drive traffic and engagement.
- Maintain brand standards through proper merchandising, hygiene, and stock replenishment.
- Acquire new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits.
- Collaborate with vendors, personal stylists, and store leadership to optimize outcomes.
- Resolve customer concerns in a professional and customer‑first manner.
- Stay informed on new launches, best‑sellers, and beauty trends to support team education.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate flexibility, sound judgment, and a passion for the beauty industry.
- 3–5 years of relevant retail, beauty, or leadership experience preferred.
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Must be able to: understand and communicate effectively with customers, co‑workers, and supervisors; read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.
- Understanding of computers and technology for cash register transactions.
Physical Requirements
- Talk, lift, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
- Stand ≥ 2 hrs, lift ≥ 25 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders, reach above eye level.
- Require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
