Job Purpose
The Security Guard is responsible for the physical protection and security of the company's property and assets, as well as the safety of employees, residents, and customers. The Security Guard will oversee all aspects of personnel security for sites to which they are assigned. The Security Guard must be friendly to residents yet also project confidence that should any incident arise, they will be able to take the steps needed to address the situation.
Duties & Responsibilities- Provide a professional courteous relationship with tenants and visitors.
- Monitor and track all visitors that enter the property or screen visitors per instructions provided by building management.
- Field phone calls from tenants and visitors requesting information or requesting services.
- Make rounds throughout the building, assuring that all doors are closed and locked as required.
- Review Emergency Procedures for your building and be prepared to carry out any responsibilities including directing residents/tenants to safety during emergency situations.
- Serve as a liaison between the property assigned and entities responding to assist (police, maintenance, etc.).
- Investigate suspicious persons and occurrences in the perimeter of customers property and notify police when necessary.
- Log and store packages for residents as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- State of Delaware Security Card preferred, but not required
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent knowledge of security protocols
- Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve problems as they arise
- Attention to detail
- Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations
- High School or GED certificate preferred
- Requires prolonged sitting and/or standing
- Requires frequent operation of office equipment; such as a computer, copy machine, telephone, etc.
- Occasional stretching and / or bending to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
